Pepeverse Is The Play
Pepeverse is the unexpected: Pepe AI NFTs here to tell a story.
The very first thing you need to understand is in addition to an astronaut teacher, an author, co-founder of OBEY, an NFT artist, and now an astronaut, I self-define as a time-traveler.
My name is Mike Mongo and I am a time traveler.
Point of information, I am of the worldview that all evolved human beings are time travelers. That said, apparently in this particular expression of now I am a stand-out at least in this regards.
How I came to be a co-founder and co-creator of Pepeverse is an application of the principals which I have long created artwork: I set myself up for success in the future from the past to the benefit of the present.
For me, all now happens simultaneously. All versions of myself are united in cause. And so we created Pepeverse, together with a team of three, each defined by our roles:
- Prompt (in Portugal).
- Refine (in India).
- Dev (in Australia).
I am Narrator (in the US). Four creators, four time zones, four roles, and one team, united by our mutual passions for NFT art, AI, memes, and degen fun.
Pepe of course is Pepe the Frog aka Feels Good Man by artist-author-creator Matt Furie. Pepe is synonymous with internet culture and has withstood the test of time as well as a full-frontal assault to usurp Pepe for evil instead of good by the world’s right wing. However, today as always, Pepe abides.
Which brings us to Pepeverse.
Pepeverse is a collection AI-generated (Midjourney), poetry-created NFTs. Pepeverse is also a utility of the universe. It is the where dreams come from. Pepeverse is Pepe showing up for us all. In fact, Pepeverse explains Pepe.
Specifically, the actors of (as expressed in this 1st-Gen NFT collection) are all denizens and portrayers of dreams. Pepeverse is all the dreams we have had.
Many in the Pepeverse are instantly recognizable–simply because they are the portrayers of and have served in staging the very dreams we all have had.
Our interpretation of them is how culture and art develops in the waking world. As we evolve so do the expression of the actors of Pepeverse.
And, importantly for what comes next, humankind has now evolved.
How we have named them so they are more-or-less recognizable to us is only because of who we think we see. As we dream, we filter Pepeverse through our individual subconscious, and some of us who are creators tell stories based on the dreams we have–as portrayed by all of Pepeverse.
So there is no Pokémon in Pepeverse. There is #309 who today looks to us like Pokémon–only because that is how their story was told here now, through Satoshi Tajiri and the creators of Pokémon.
Likewise, there is no Superman in Pepevere. No Thanos. No Mickey Mouse. Only their stories told by the creators who created them. The Pepeversians who resemble them to us are nothing like the characters who stories we tell.
There is no Homer Simpson in Pepeverse.
There are Pepeversians (the denizans of Pepeverse) who look like all these characters to us because that’s how their creators chose to tell their stories. We are familiar with those stories. And those stories came from dreams of Pepeverse which were filtered through the subconscious of their creators.
The story and characters of these Pepeversians is absolutely nothing like the characters or stories they remind us of. In fact, we interpret some of the Pepeversians as simply no one. That is, until one of us dreams them and creates a story we let them tell through the filter of our own hopes, desires, despairs, and day dreams. Until then, they remain anonymous players to us.
Indeed, Pepeverse is a function of the universe. it allows for dreamers to have players in our dreams. And our dreams are told from the stories in our hearts.
Pepeverse is the home of the actors who portray our dreams to us, for us, and by us. And the Pepeverse NFT collection is the story of their story.
Pepeverse is the story of the actors whose sole purpose is to be the actors of the stories of our dreams. It is who they are, it is what they are.
We hope you love Pepeverse with all your heart. Some will seem scary, some will seem lovely, and some will take time to figure out how we feel out.
In Pepeverse, the actors and essence of our dreams, there will always be something for everybody and it is a story whose time has come to be told. And as the openly-public time traveler on the team, I am here to tell it.
